Q: What is the breakdown of the results?
Within the cohort of 5 students, 3 clinched grade A1, 1 achieved B3. Our Einstein Elites come from St Andrew’s Secondary School, Holy Innocent Secondary School, Yu Ying Secondary School and Seng Kang Secondary School.
Q: How did the students achieve their desired grades?
The students acted with the utmost decorum and gravitas. Through repeated reminders from the tutor, the students began their revision several months running up to their EOY exams. This provided ample and crucial time for students to reclarify their doubts and misconceptions so that they have a solid foundation to ace their EOY exams.
Q: What did the tutors do to help the students in this subject?
The tutor ensured that the students had the required level of understanding and skill sets to approach all types of questions that they would be tested in their EOY exams. The students were acquainted with the common types of questions as well as common pitfalls and misconceptions which would increase their awareness and accuracies during the EOY exams.
Furthermore, the tutor conducted constant revision and recap of previous concepts and techniques during the lessons. This benefited the students in being able to handle a much greater number of topics that they were tested on during their EOY exams as compared to the limited number of topics tested for their WAs.
The environment set by the tutor presented A Math as a subject that the students can ace with the appropriate amount of effort and preparations.
Q: What changes were observed in the students over the course of study?
The students gained a greater level of confidence in completing their questions for their classwork, homework, and revision. With greater confidence, the students were further incentivised to intensify their revision which resulted in a positive feedback loop.
The students also showed a greater amount of responsibility in their work, which resulted in greater efforts and improvements in their grades.
