01 Nov SUCCESS 041: Wen Ze PSLE Science AL1
Einstein Elite: Wen Ze
PSLE Science Grade AL1
Wen Ze’s Success Motto: “Never give up!”
Q: What results did you receive in your PSLE and the prelim?
My Science prelim did not go well, I only scored AL5. That was my turning point, I strived my best in the PSLE and achieved AL1!
Q: What did you do after the prelim to improve your results on Science?
I drew lessons from my prelims to increase the frequency and duration of my Science revision for the PSLE. I increased my revision routine to every 1 or 2 days with longer duration of 2 to 3 hours. I focused on all the P5 and P6 core topics, studied the tuition notes in depth of these topics and paid close attention to the highlighted key words. I went on to redo the wrong questions to learn from my mistakes and improve my answering techniques. I allocated more time to attempt the P3 to P6 Science assessment books as well as the past year school prelim papers to gain maximum exposure to different types of questions. If the questions that I attempted were wrong, I would redo them. If I still got it wrong after I redid the question, I would study thoroughly on that topic again. Through this, I was able to identify which topics I needed to further reinforce. Eventually, my understanding and answering skills of all the Science topics were well strengthened before the PSLE.
Q: What did the tutor in the Achievers’ class do to help you in this subject?
The tutor would explain in detail on both the current topics and the previous topics. Along the way, he would check with me which topic I needed help in and revise it with me. From time to time, the tutor would set additional questions in class to test my understanding of the concepts and application of the keywords. At the end of every lesson, he would explain the important keywords of the topics and incorporate them as spelling for me to learn.
Q: What do you think of Einstein Education Hub? How is it different from other tuition experiences that you had previously?
For the other tuition centre that I attended previously, the topics that were taught were slower than what I was learning in school. There was no hardcopy learning materials, nothing to revise at home because no homework was given. At Einstein, the tutor would teach the topic ahead of the school, so I could understand the topic better in school. There were hardcopy comprehensive notes which I could revise at home while doing the tuition homework.
