Q: How did the students achieve their desired grades?

Through hardwork and dedication in their studies. Not only did they pay close attention during the lessons, but they also put in great effort in both the classwork and the homework. The students were diligent in their work by doing the assignments to the best of their abilities. Besides timely submission of their homework, they would constantly revise their work to develop a strong grasp of the topics and do well in their school EOY exams.

Q: What did the tutors do to help the students in this subject?

The Math tutor helped the students to familiarise the topics with greater understanding and competency. Being approachable and conducting the lesson in a more engaging manner, the tutor aroused the interest of the students in the subject to want to learn more during the lesson. Effective problem-solving method together with step-by-step methodology were instilled into the students, allowing them to gain clarity and accuracy in their work. More importantly, misconceptions and common errors were thoroughly addressed to prevent further relapse. This was done through active reinforcement, reminders and encouragements. Consistency was strengthened with the completion of weekly homework and the regular testing of the effective methods including the explanation of the major steps within the methods.

Firstly, the students gained significant understanding in both the topics and the effective methods. Next, they became more receptive when answering questions posed by the tutor, made fewer errors especially careless mistakes. Most importantly, their work showed gradual improvement in quality over time. Overall, they were more confident in their ability to solve the questions and study the subject. These valuable skill sets mastered by the students went on to help transform their results into flying colours!
