Einstein Smartie: Yu Hang 2025 EOY : Sec 3 EX A Math Grade A1, EX E Math Grade A1

Q: What results did you get for A Math and E Math in the WA2, WA3 and EOY exam this year?

My A Math WA2 was D7 which was far from satisfactory.  I worked hard for my WA3 to get B4 and put in my best effort in the A Math EOY to clinch a distinction A1.

My E Math WA2 was E8 but I turned my grade around with A1 in my WA3 even though it was a project.  I pressed on in the E Math EOY and my efforts were rewarded with A1.

Q: What did you do in your preparation for the A Math and E Math EOY this time round and how was it different from last time?

Last time, although I took A Math tuition from another centre, I was not serious and did not heed the tutor’s advice.  Since attending the lessons @Einstein, I did what my tutor advised me to do.  Every day after school, I would revise for 2 hours at home, going through both the tuition notes and the school notes for every topic to strengthen my understanding.  I would then proceed to attempt the questions on the ten-years series to sharpen my application skills, speed and accuracy.  During weekends, I spent more than 2 hours to consolidate the weaker topics, making sure that all the previous gaps were closed.  Whatever I was unsure of during the revision, I would seek clarifications from the tutors @Einstein to fully address my doubts.  Therefore, I was more confident and very well prepared going into the EOY exam this time round.

Q: What did your tutor do to help you in these 2 subjects?

Both the A Math tutor and the E Math tutor would cover the topics from scratch, explain clearly all the important points and often emphasize the vital steps and the reasons behind them. They taught using the most effective methods which showed all the steps systematically. From time to time, the tutors would test me on the methods and ask me to explain the logic for the more important steps. They do not hesitate to guide and teach me patiently whenever I am in doubt. This really helped me to make progress in both A Math and E Math in terms of understanding and applying the methods to solve the questions across the topics.

Q: What is your target for the O level next year? What will you do to achieve it?

My target for both A Math and E Math in the O level will be A1.  I will work even harder since I know that the Sec 3 EOY exam is not the end of the race yet, I will not get complacent over my result.  I will step up my consistency throughout the whole of next year and ensure that I can perform well in the Sec 3 topics as well as the Sec 4 topics.
