Q: What results did you get for E Math in the WA2 and WA3 this year?
For my WA2, I was not satisfied with grade U. I worked hard for the WA3 and made a strong comeback with an excellent grade 1!
Q: What did you do in your preparation for the WA3 this time round and how was it different from last time?
For the WA3 this time round, I was more diligent in doing my schoolwork. I did not rush through my work but more careful with the steps that I wrote, ensuring that I used the proper method and the steps were written correctly. I also focused more on the weaker topic such as graph by spending more time to study the school worksheets and the tuition materials. I made the extra effort to understand better the methods and how they worked after going through the learning materials a few times. To better prepare myself for the WA3, I reviewed the different types of questions of the topics that were tested. I was able to familiarise myself with them as well as the methods that I could use to solve them. My preparation was actually much more consistent and effective than last time.
Q: What did the tutors in the Achievers’ class do to help you in this subject?
The tutor in the E Math lesson explained topic by topic clearly which I could clear my lingering doubts. I could understand the topics better as the tutor taught at a pace that I could follow well without rushing through. I was able to recall the formulas more vividly and understand how to use them correctly because the tutor would frequently test me over subsequent lessons. The tuition notes were comprehensive, covering the various types of questions in detail that are commonly tested within each topic. The tutor would not hesitate to set additional questions from time to time on the topics tested which was very helpful in my preparation for the WA3.
Q: What is your target for the EOY exam this year? What will you do to achieve it?
My target is grade 2.
I will start my revision now to review both the current topics and the previous topics consistently. Be more focused on studies by being proactive in asking questions to clarify my doubts on any topic and reduce distractions from games. I will take the initiative to ask my school teacher for more practice papers and past year school exam papers to do. Thus, I can better gauge myself and reinforce any topic that I am still unsure of before the EOY exam.
