Q: What is the breakdown of the results?

A: Within the cohort of 12 students, 4 scored A1, 4 scored A2 and 2 scored B3. Several of them improved at least 1 grade in this WA, absolutely outstanding performance!

Q: How did the students achieve their desired grades?

The students sought to clarify any doubts they had regarding the questions or concepts during the A Math lessons. They did not snowball their doubts.
More importantly, they did consistent revision on their own at home and brought questions (that they did not understand while going through their revision) to clarify with the tutors.

Q: What did the tutors do to help the students in this subject?

The A Math tutors went through all the effective methods and concepts clearly and repeatedly so that the students could understand and remember them. The students were often tasked to answer verbal questions to strengthen their understanding on the important steps within the solutions.
With frequent reminders and encouragements, the tutors successfully inculcated into the students the good habits of doing their work in a step-by-step fashion with thorough checking of their steps and calculations. They also clarified all the doubts with the students and made sure that all the students could follow before moving on with the lesson, thus every student was on the same page and no one would be confused during the lessons.
As the tutors were constantly concerned with the students’ performance, they would share with them the effective revision tips that the students could benefit from while doing their revision at home. This raised both the revision efficiency and the performance level of the students in A Math which gave rise to the outstanding results in the WA1.

Q: What changes were observed in the students over the course of study?

The students were observed to be more serious and meticulous in their work as they understood the significance of the O-Level examinations this year.
They followed the lessons more closely and utilised their time during the lesson to think deeper than usual to answer both verbal and written questions.
They also grew in confidence over time as their work improved in terms of clarity (all the steps were shown clearly, step-by-step approach) and accuracy (less errors made, more ticks in their answers after using the proper methods that were taught during tuition).
